Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh seeks volunteers who love the museums, enjoy people, are outgoing and energetic, and can commit to working at least one half-day per week.
Volunteers welcome visitors, helping them plan their visits and locate exhibits and amenities.
Volunteers are based at an Information Desk, but the position also requires a good deal of walking and standing.
Volunteers are needed to work one 4 hour shift Sundays through Saturdays.

The Carnegie Museum of Natural History needs volunteers to work in the Discovery Room, a hands-on area for students and families.
All scientific sections in the museum are represented in some form in the Discovery Room.
Volunteers welcome visitors, monitor activities, and respond to questions.
Shifts are one half day a week, Tuesday through Sunday - not all shifts are open at this time.
Volunteers are also needed to represent the museum as our mascot, T-Carnegie Rex.
T-Rex attends fairs and other public events around the city.
Volunteers must be 5'7" or shorter, over 16 years old, and have transportation in order to pick up the costume at the museum and take it to the events.

Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh offers a variety of volunteer opportunities to work with children, families, and groups in a creative, learning atmosphere, assisting with administrative tasks and special events.

This Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece is located an hour from Pittsburgh, in the midst of the beautiful Laurel Highlands.
Volunteers interact with visitors by:
assisting with interpretive programs for adults and children
helping visitors at the information desk, shop and café
planting gardens and managing the Fallingwater landscape
setting up and working special events
staffing on-site art exhibitions in the Barn at Fallingwater
Volunteers at Fallingwater meet people from all over the world, work in a beautiful natural setting, and get to know Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterpiece on a personal level.
We encourage interested adults, who are willing to commit at least a day per month (May through October) to apply.

Phipps relies on the active participation of volunteers for greenhouse, outreach and office support.
Volunteering lets you get out and use your "special talents."
At the Conservatory and the Garden Center, Phipps has approximately 500 active volunteers in a variety of positions, such as volunteer greenhouse helpers, volunteer outdoor workers, volunteer docents, education volunteers and office volunteers.
However, as Phipps continues to grow so does the need for volunteers in a variety of capacities.
The 8-session docent training classes are offered twice a year.
Similarly, horticulture volunteers receive training in horticultural practices, plant maintenance and care.
To become a Phipps volunteer, you will need to fill out an application and schedule an interview with Phipps' volunteer coordinator.
